M-I SWACO has engineered  portable and containerized  DEWATERING technologies  that remove colloidal-sized  particles that can seriously  degrade the performance  of water-base drilling fluids.  The DEWATERING systems  

eliminate the need for costly  dilution to maintain density and  rheological properties, thereby  conserving water, reducing  waste volumes and costs.

The fine particles are removed through a  chemically enhanced process of enhanced  centrifugation that is much more cost-effective than using a single high-speed  centrifuge. A number of designs are  available to fit within any onshore or  offshore rig requirement.
