A remarkable achievement for Bautino Liquid Mud Plant team in Kazakhstan, operated by Kaz M-I JV, (M-I SWACO division of WCF), commemorating 4000 days LTI-free milestone.
Starting from 2012, Bautino LMP has become a key facility in country for servicing all offshore drilling operations in Kazakhstan sector of Caspian Sea. Including Kashagan field that ranks as one of the largest oil discoveries of the past decades, with approximately 9-13 billion barrels of recoverable oil, and many other offshore structures under exploration.
In round-the-year mode LMP is providing:
- Mixing of high density oil-based mud (OBM), water-based mud (WBM) and brines (3 x 80 M3 and 40 M3 mixing tanks).
- 4 000 M3 / 25 000 bbls of fluid storage (40 x 100 M3 storage tanks).
- Dry bulk materials cutting and blending.
- 1 200 M3 / 42 000 cf of barite, bentonite and cement storage (12 x 100 M3 silos).
- 3 500 M2 of warehouse storage space and 1 000 M2 of open storage area.
- Treatment and regeneration of drilling fluids and clear brines.
- Jetty used to execute marine cargo lifting operations and to supply products onto marine vessels by 4 x individual pipelines for OBM, WBM, barite, cement & 2 x reserve lines.
It is remarkable to highlight that LMP has already supplied offshore over 260 000 bbls of various drilling fluids and 25 000 tons of cargo chemicals and dry bulk materials.
This year Kaz M-I JV has been awarded with additional 5-year LMP fluid service Contract by NCOC N.V., a Kashagan field Operator, aimed for workover jobs and well intervention activities. This outstanding achievement emphasizes SLB/Kaz M-I commitment to provide best-in-class service being following an ageless M-I SWACO credo: Customer focused – solutions driven.
